TUTORIAL: Extend SERVERware Standalone storage
Adding storage capacity is an essential step to meet the growing needs of your data and ensure business continuity. In this guide, we will explore the process of expanding storage by adding two identical disks, while preserving redundancy to ensure system reliability.
Carefully follow each step to optimize and maintain the performance of your SERVERware infrastructure.
Insert two new identical disks into the empty bays of the storage server. Since we wish to maintain storage redundancy, we systematically add two identical disks to expand the storage in the form of a redundant array. It is necessary to create a partition table on the new disks.
Before starting this procedure, it is essential to check the current state of the storage pool.

A mirror configuration can be observed from the existing disks (mirror-0).
Now, it is necessary to determine which block the system device name has been assigned to for the new disks.

Notice the highlighted lines (16 & 24).

The use of '''parted''' is recommended to create a partition table for the new logical drives.

IMPORTANT: the label must be named according to the following format: NETSTORx. Where “NETSTOR” comes from the server storage and “x” represents the disk number.
Thus, in our example (NETSTOR3):
NETSTOR – this means a virtual pool on the storage server
[ 3 ] – this is the disk number (disk 3)
Now, add a label to the new disks.

It is necessary to act with caution when using this command. Make sure to verify the logical drive names to ensure their accuracy.
zpool add NETSTOR mirror /dev/disk/by-partlabel/NETSTOR3 /dev/disk/by-partlabel/NETSTOR4 -f Now, in the zpool, you should observe the addition of the logical volume:
