TUTORIAL: Record a message from a phone
It is possible to record greeting messages for your switchboard from a phone. These greeting messages can then be repositioned, or directly replaced using an access code.
Record an audio message
- As an administrator, go to Settings > Access codes and check that the code *301 is defined under “Greeting message recording”.
- From a phone connected to the system, dial *301 and speak into the microphone after the tone.
- When you have finished recording the message, press the # to finish. A voice menu will appear with three options:
1. Accept the recorded message
2. Listen to your message
3. Re-record the message
Press 1 to record your greeting. Enter the other options as needed.
The recorded sound file will be saved and can be found in Home > System > Sound files under the name greeting-mm-dd-yyyy-hh-mm-ss.
To use it on your destination (IVR, ring group, etc.), please refer to our tutorialdedicated to this purpose.
